Peru

During the summer of 2003 Linda spent a very productive three and a half weeks in Peru. She was part of an Exodus team that had gone to support the work of four small Baptist congregations, in Tacno, near the southern border.

Linda, who described the visit as "life-changing" was struck most by the poverty - "not starving people, but lacking the basic amenities, such as running water, proper sanitation and regular electricity supply. There were very few opportunities for employment".

The team distributed invitations to events in the churches, held open-air children's meetings and got involved in church youth activities. The whole experience was such a positive one that Linda is keen to go back.
